Picked up a pair of unlined snuff suede penny loafers from the ShoeMart irregulars. Hopefully it's something minor and the shoes actually fit me. I have the hardest time finding loafers since I always get heel slippage due to my skinny heels.

Congrats on that find!

Once you know you're keeping them, pick up some Tarrago Nano Protector. The stuff is amazing on suede here in rainy Tampa.

Any owners of the classic tan burnished calfskin wingtip blucher? Looking for pics of wear and comments on versatility/wearability. I've considered the shoe for years. Debating between this and the burnished tan wingtip boot.

I am inches from pulling the trigger on the 966 but I'm not sure of sizing. I've been told that they run unusually narrow even for Aberdeen. The nice lady at Leffot (I think it's Che?) told me she would go with a width wider (i.e. 10D to 10E). Haven't been able to try on yet. They do seem pretty close to my J Crew tobacco waxed LWB, but the flat welt and aberdeen last make it easier to dress up. At least that's wjat I'm telling myself.

Great photos. Where are the deglazed tankers from? Curious about the white stitching.

You were sent a 270 welt shoe, whereas the bottom image is a full 360 welt. Many would characterize yours as more formal, which, FWIW, I tend to like better for a cap toe blucher.

is there any positive or negative to have 360 welt vs 270?

270-degrees can be sleeker. I don't think you'll find much difference otherwise, unless it's something like the Alden 404 that needs a 360-degree welt because of the storm welt. The shoe will have a steel shank regardless of the welt.

does Tarrago Nano Protector affect the color?

i know the saphir Super Invulner suede protecter is safe to use on white suede, but would Tarrago Nano Protector discolor white suede?
