1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

With all the whiskey talk, I wonder what I to keep... whiskey Indy or WTB

I guess whatever I don't keep, I should break even on the secondary market :)

I would keep the Indy, the Whiskey LWB's come around constantly from year to year.

I apologize for the confusion, the other option is the Whiskey wingtip boot.

I guess I could just sit on it for 5 years and sell them on eBay for $5K. :)

Sorta pissed I passed on the WTB, coulda changed the soles out to double leather easily. Commando is a little overkill for the SouthWest.

That would only happen if they discontinued whiskey.
Even before this sudden influx of rare shell, if you look up past ebay sales, used whiskey still only sold for $400~500 and new whiskey sold for a little less than MSRP.
    Sounds about right.
$5k is only reserved for the discontinued colors.
But who knows? There are some crazy people out there.

Do you think there will be a strong secondary market for whiskey WTBs and Ravello CTBs?

I think those would command a couple hundred more for NIB. But hey, for a few hundred is it worth the hassle.. ? For me no. I'd prefer to sell to other solid SF members for actual cost and hope the favor would be repaid someday

    I doubt it.
It costs $980 to MTO with Crockett and Jones.
Once ebay prices of Alden's whiskey WTB surpass $980 it doesn't make sense to go with alden's whiskey WTB, unless you are die-hard alden fan/collector. $980 on ebay=$880 after fees meaning only a $100 profit which wouldn't even be worth it for the seller.

Even from a collector's point of view, wingtip boot isn't that exotic. Maybe whiskey + tanker boot would make it worthwile for a collector.

Sorry to say, but crockett and jones SkyeII looks nicer, and the shade of whiskey shell has been pretty consistent judging from pics from the past 2 C&J MTO's. At least you will know that you will get a nice golden whiskey vs alden's muted, pastey whiskey as of late.
    Just my $0.02.
