1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

A while back I walked into Citishoes and saw a pair of Cigar NST's, tried them on, hemmed and hawed and decided against them. Ever since I have been kicking myself for not grabbing them.

I got pretty lucky last week..while in NYC shopping for wedding dresses and celebrating my birthday I saw them again (not the same pair!). Jumped on them this time.

By the way, if anyone is interested Citishoes has Cigar Bal's (I believe the same shoes that were on the seconds list at TSM and caused quite a stir here). They also have a pair or two of Whiskey LHS (unsure of sizes as I already have a pair).

Nice score, though I'm not sure how they will look with your wedding dress. Maybe you should go with something lighter?

This refers back to some discussion several pages ago, but regarding Alden themselves talking about inventing the tassel loafer, and Alden advertising in general being almost non-existent, here is a postcard Alden DC sent out a few years ago. It doesn't seem to do much other than say, "Hey, we're here, and we have shoes." It was very unusual to get, all things considered.

I am looking for boots and with the Sample Sale coming up for Viberg I was wondering if anyone knew if the Indy Boots ever seem to go on sale anywhere?

With a few rare exceptions that cannot be predicted, no. If you are patient you can check B&S on here and eBay.

In contrast the Japanese distributor has been doing a fantastic job marketing the Alden brand. Allegedly Alden sells more shoes in Japan than anywhere else.

    Looking great!!

Really wish I could have snagged my size. Hopefully some other retailers jump on this design. Would love it on commando.

Agreed. I would have said this, but it now seems like it has been quite some time (over 6 months) since they've done this. They may have wizened up - though I could be wrong. I guess some may still be able to have some success by asking sales reps to give them the 25% via phone or in the stores.

Great boots, gosheik. They should age beautifully.

I got a coupon that worked on the natural cxl boot, about 3-4 months ago now. Saved me 20%. I have their CC though so I dunno if that allows me greater discounts or not. I tend to get at least 3-4 a year that work on Alden's.
