Got these from the Shoemart Alden Seconds eMail a few months back. Only $289 and can't find the reason they're seconds. Been wearing them for a little bit now. Love them.

Me too - especially because I came in second. Oh well.
At least you get the satisfaction of having a bunch of people walking around on your design in a few months! Not a bad consolation prize. I'm ordering a pair of the chrome excel jumper shoe. Any other takers on this preorder? Also, anyone have an answer to my tobacco reverse chamois vs tobacco oiled nubuck question? I've gotten conflicting information from two Alden dealers. Someone set the record straight!

Maybe because they eyelets don't line up perfectly? Also they look scuffed and worn.

It's a beautiful day here in San Francisco so I thought I'd take my Aldens up to the roof for a photo session. Here's a taster.

Might be the angle of those pics, but the eyelets are actually pretty straight. I've worn them for the past month...

Considering a purchase to be sent to the UK - Would someone be kind enough to help with the colour of these?
New suede wingtips w/commando sole: [IMG] [IMG]
Are the pictures true to the suede colour as when I look at other models in snuff the shades seems to be more orangey brown. Also, the tan in some pictures seems very light in comparison with the pics above. Has anyone purchased the above model or has seen them in person that can confirm the colour? many thanks for any help.

    anyone?

    anyone?

The snuff looks pretty close and the tan is slightly lighter in person.

Hrm, don't know if I missed this but what are the differences between the following:

    JC Indy from Leffot
    LeatherSoul Indy
    ShoeMart 40566C
    JGilbert Indy

All in cigar cordovan - I'm not at all up on multiple special editions/etc.

Check for commando vs double leather sole and/or speedhooks.
Other LS cordovan Indys I have (#8, black, whiskey) came with speedhooks and double leather soles.
The Shoe Mart ones have commando and no speedhooks.

Awesome score. I'm currently wearing a pair of what-I'm-pretty-sure-are Epaulet seconds.
