1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

The same seller has a pair of used CXL boots for $1,000.

This is the stuff that aggravates me most about LS. I have been emailing that place for a year now about those Choco Tankers, and every time I am told they do not have a list and are not sure on when a restock is coming. Just be straight up with me. I'm a big boy, I have heard the word no. Just say "We don't like you, you haven't spent enough here, so you cant buy from us."

Anything for some rare shell. Even better if it's not my size.

What should I do for shoe trees for the Modified last?

These are awesome! I have them from Moulded in Choco Suede. They fit so well. Where is this snuff makeup from? Moulded as well I assume because of the last?

Meh. Mike is the coolest and most humble guy in this thread. He plays things down and not for show, but actually because he enjoys the hobby and wants everyone else to enjoy it too. In reality he's got every reason to brag with some of his amazing Alden scores. So it may not have been luck, but I can't think of many people who would do it as gracefully as mdubs.

    Nice cigars, Mike.

Your C width has me thinking I'm not properly sized. I'm starting to wonder if I'm actually a C width and not D. I'm stuck somewhere between both on the bannock, maybe a little closer to 10 D (9.5D Barrie). I feel like the Modified last fits so much better and the Barrie D feels so wide and clunky. Is that normal? Any suggestions in the Philadlehia area to try on c width? Sherman Brothers?

Thanks! Yep, they are from Moulded. I'm a EEE width so my in-stock choices are always limited/non-existent, but Moulded had the snuff cap toe in my clown size, so I jumped on them.

As for shoe trees, I've always just used regular shoe trees in my modified last shoes.

Most certainly not luck. Initiative, effort and clinical execution built on solid relationship building. Well earned keep for sure.

@chrisefi and others, thank you very much sir! I do have a strong passion for high end shoes, particularly for this Massachusetts based company named Alden. I greatly enjoy contributing photos of Alden's to the community, predominantly because I find the internet lacking on pictures of Aldens (and I enjoy it!)

I probably put more effort into purchasing shoes than the average person... I try to inquire enough with the stores to be in touch, but not too much to be pestering. I hope that I have found the proper balance... But sometimes, it does come down to being at the right place at the right time. I do find it very useful and practical to establish a relationship with a store, as they may actually think of you when a jewel pops up...

I know. I didn't want to re-hash this. I mainly meant that IF they are Ryden's...he most likely sold them at little to no profit to a fellow "enthusiast". When he just could have listed them for $3,000 on eBay himself.

I have to agree. Buying something from a retailer and than marking up is one thing, but swindling the community.... cmon.
