1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

They sure are! Flush toe taps from B. Nelson's, as with all my shoes, Alden or otherwise. At the tennis court I'm wearing the same in black shell, and my jumping partner is wearing black calf. All our own personal shoes!

bkotsko, you have correctly defined the difference, and yes, the heel seat is nailed before the heel stack in 270 degree welted models.

I think Alpina was just trying to say that 270/360 welting isn't dependent upon the type of welt used. In other words, you can have a 270 degree welted shoe with a flat, storm, split-reverse, etc., welt. You can have a 360 degree welted shoe with any of these as well.

Certainly, the stitching goes through the welt when attaching the outsole. However, "rapid" is only used when relating to a Blake-rapid constructed shoe, which borrows from Goodyear's construction technique to improve on the traditional Blake-stitched shoe. Blake-rapid shoes use a Goodyear Outsole stitching machine to attach the outsoles to a midsole. This is referred to as the "rapid stitch", after the midsole is attached using a Blake/McKay stitching machine.

I own the same shoe. They're brilliant. I applied some VSC (per Nick Horween) and besides that just brush. Here's a pic I took last week. Hope it helps & enjoy your PTBs!

(Note: these are 10E from Alden SF; they were much darker and richer in color than the 10.5D I received and sent back to TSM.)

Love the full straps, but tricky to fit between the pesky Aberdeen last and low vamp. Can't quite make it work

Sorry Beeb! If you can, go to SF or DC and try a crazy combo of widths. You may find one that works like a dream for you. I go up a size, but down a width on the Aberdeen loafers.

^ Yeah, I will prob do that next time i'm in SF. On the tassels I can pull off a 10D (regular size is 9.5D Barrie) but on the full-straps I step out of the shoe when I walk. 10C may fit the bill...

Ha, pretty close, but too many pine needles and not enough grout. Killer Plaza WT Boots in Cigar. You are very lucky to have gotten those from LeatherSoul.
