1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I understand that. It's just that the leather insoles on these boots are below my expectation. Other than that, great boots, stoked that they made it through customs, and I'm sorry to fill the thread with this.

Just to explain better. The insole is very white, without the pinkish/skin tone I usually see on natural leather insoles. It is textured, with grains and has a rough feel which makes it look like something that was mashed together, sort of like Papier-Mâché.

Here is a picture of them and then leather insoles from two other brands. What do you think? To avoid surprises on future purchases, is this what a normal Alden insole looks like?

You've got completely normal insoles. Alden's insoles are cut from full pieces of leather. They're not some Chicken McMugget mishmash of leather scraps.

Not trying to mock you or anything but my first thought was that's some next level pickiness.

Shot of my Natural CXL PTB in the glorious summer sun (excuse the socks; I just threw something on whilst breaking them in around the house).

Will you all use coloring product like saphir cordovan cream in different color for ravello, whisky or cigar cordovan shoes?
What do you do for scuffs on the shoes?
I read some articles which stated to use deer bones on the scuffs, i have tried but seem useless.

Has anyone heard from Yenni at J Gilbert, post her Alden factory tour about the Cognac Calf NST Boots?

These were supposed to ship from Alden on 5/26 last I heard from her, but radio silence since then.

    Thanks
