1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

So I just received my Tan LHS's in the mail. I tried the 9D in person and they were a bit too long and maybe just right in the width. Ended up going with the 8.5D. Looks like they're too tight around the middle off the foot on the top of both sides of the foot. With they stretch or should I send them back and go for the 8.5E?

Did you get the standard Alden flex-welt or the BB version? The Alden standard model is unlined and will mold more to your foot, but if they feel tight to start, they are going to kill you 8 hours later, so go up in width if humanly possible.

I'm actually about to order the tan suede ones! Do you wear socks with them?

I'm actually not sure if I want tan or snuff. I plan to go sockless with them in the summer and am worried that the snuff would be too dark against my super pale legs (Irish non-tanner here).

Snuff LHS. I think that I could live on the unlined LHSes alone during the summer. They are super comfy. Here is the @NAMOR artsy shot.

Just ordered a pair of 2210s in King! My 25th pair of Alden shells, but should have been among my first 5 acquisitions.

rarely worn with socks.....and often worn with shorts.....definitely among my most worn

they are super comfy, almost feel cool on my feet.....you will love them

I do not feel as though they are too dark, but can't say if tan would be a better option as I only have tan chukkas

based on my experience you may want to go up from your standard barrie.....my 11d unlined CXL dovers fit the same as the snuff suede which are 11.5d

Just took delivery of the Rough Roys from Context, and I noticed that the welt was a bit frayed on the side of the boot. I was just wondering if this will effect the structure of the boot or even make it fall apart...
