How about a cigar shell plain toe all eyelet high boot or six eyelet chukka on the Plaza with a flat 360 degree welt, dark brown edge trim, and double leather soles. Of course tomorrow I might come up with something else.

My "new" Ravello LHS. I picked them up from my PO BOX at 11:40 last night. I was like a little kid ripping into the box.

The socks were picked up on my trip @ the Neiman Marcus flagship in Dallas.

Honestly, this is bullshit is you ask me. None of these stores are expecting any Ravello orders to show up in the next 12 months, then they all suddenly get shipments out of the blue with no warning? Alden DC LWB, Alden SF PTB, and now apparently Alden NY got a PTB as well. Yet, loyal customers who have paid in full and are waiting 3+ years for a pre-order get nothing? I highly doubt that any of these stores placed orders for these new Ravello models over 3 years ago.

I understand the big Alden branded stores do more business, but this is ridiculous. They really need to get their priorities straight. I guess the threat of losing me as a customer won't make any difference to their bottom line, so I'm sure they wouldn't care if I ever bought another pair of Aldens again.

Quote:The main difference is the Grant last. Even less of a difference than NAMOR's comparison of the Jcrew boot vs Grant lasted captoe.

There is definitely BS going on --- depending on who you talk to and when, you get different stories from the same stores. I think a large part of it has to do w the fact that they have so many unconfirmed orders and no idea as to when - or whether - those orders will be confirmed. Could be a year - could be tomorrow. The shoes are already spoken for with a long list of alternate buyers. Then you factor in Alden's propensity to send half of what they asked for... They don't want to say all this. They just say "nope, no good for a year."

I love those!! Nice! Sorry for the stupid question, but I assume that I would have to call to see if they have any of these in my size, correct? Meaning, they don't have an online site, correct? Thanks.
