Anyone ever buy the Alden shoe bags from TSM? I see them on their site for $16...is that for each bag, or is it $16 for a pair? It doesn't really specify in the description, and I wouldn't want to order one and then end up with just one bag instead of a pair.

Looks like the seller could't wait for delivery from Leffot to take his own photos, so he just used the stock photos from Leffot's website

can a shoe be "relasted" to a narrower width during a re-sole? i'm assuming not as there are probably a dozen things that would be thrown off, just curious

    also...

as someone who grew up in Athens, GA, but now calls Seattle home, seeing UW referred to as the "Dawgs" really grinds my gears

b.nelson used to take on resizing projects: widening or narrowing a fit during the resole. However, after I last checked 2 months ago, he said they cant help with that.

Anyone ever tried or heard of dying shell's? Before I got the 'Alden Flu' it was not uncommon for me to dye shoes. I have even dyed a couple pair of my first calfskin Alden's, but I've never tried shell. I see a pair of shell's on ebay that I really like and while I'm up for the challenge of trying to bring them back to life, it's possible that they are so far gone that they require some dye. I fine with that as long as it doesn't in essence change the characteristic of the shoe. What I mean is that part of why I love shell is the georgous shine you can achieve with nothing but a damp rag, a brush, and a willingness to use some elbow grease. My concern is whether dying changes that and essentially turns the maintenance into something along the lines of calfskin? I'm encouraged by the fact that I think dying is a part of the Alden/AE restoration process but just figured I'd throw this out to the community and get your thoughts. BTW, these shoes are neither Alden or AE or I would consider using their restoration service. I thought about B. Nelson but quite honestly I've gotten so good at dying that I'm confident that I can get pretty close to most cobblers.

As always, thanks in advance for any input.
