1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

No commando soles, but Frans Boone has an version of that boot as well: http://www.fransboonestore.com/store/alden/alden-cordovan-8-parajumper-boots. You can convert speedhooks to eyelets if needed as well.

Looks like it's out of your size, but they may be getting in another shipment soon.

Anyone know a vendor that would offer a color 8 Indy with a lighter welt or sole? As in not full black, just don't care for black.

Thanks. The reason I'm selling is that these are actually too big for me. My first new Alden purchase and I didn't really understand my Barrie sizing. As many have opined, shoes that don't fit right usually don't get worn.

Much appreciated. I really do love them. If only they were 1/2 size smaller.

Yenni is doing a #8 Indy on the Plaza last with antique edging. I think they are a hopeful Fall arrival. Hit up Yenni at JGilbert.

Try CitiShoes in NYC. They give trees with their shoes too.

That sucks, I'd find a way to make those fit my feet - even if they became my winter only, thick sock shoes....

    I wish they were 10D!

Today at Epaulet in NYC, I tried on both the Alden PTB and the Alden Chukka, both in snuff suede. It seemed clear that the two shoes actually weren't identical in color - even though they were both called "snuff", the chukka was a slightly darker (and more likeable) color to me than the PTB.

Do you guys know if this color difference PTBs and Chukkas is expected (and if shoes at Alden's own shops would be the same)? Or could Epaulet be specifically ordering slightly different colors for these two shoes - but calling them both "snuff"?

There is a bit of natural color variation in suede just as in any other leather. Some snuff is darker and some has more red, still all within the snuff color

I know most of you use shoe trees in shoes but what's the opinion of trees in boots especially CXL. And in lined vs unlined boots If that makes a difference.

    Use trees. :)

It helps to keep the shape and more importantly absorb moisture.

Believe me when I say I am conflicted about selling these. That's why I called out in the auction that I'm not accepting offers. I will be perfectly content to wear these through the summer and either relist in October or hold on to.

I know it might sound crazy. But anyone have experience with converting indy to tanker boot?
