    Thanks, mate.

Fwiw, I did stop by the JCrew store at the Rockefeller center in NYC last Sunday and tried on tobacco Aldens. I presume they were from the old stock and looked quite orangy. I couldn't say I liked the look but I keep fingers crossed new stock will look better. They were sold out of their dark brown version, so I couldn't try that one, but I assume it's similar to the Alden's own longwing in dark brown, which I also liked.

The obvious solution would then be then to keep both! With 20% off, the price went down to ~420 and no tax. Given the current delivery estimate, I will think of those as of my Christmas present.

Sizing question for those w/ experience in the Leydon Unlined Suede Chukkas.

Last year I purchased the Epaulet Leydon LWB in a 12D. The fit is good. On the narrow side, but good and comfortable. This fall, I'm looking to pick up the Snuff Unlined Chukka on the Leydon and wanted to initially pick up the same size. However, all the e-sources, have dried up and are only stocking Es in a 12 (TSM, Leffot, etc).

Were I to get the 12E in the chukka, how much wider of a sole am I looking at? Am I going to be sloshing around in a shoe that's far to big? Should I possibly consider a 11.5E, which seems to be readily available at both TSM and Leffot? Is there anyone out there who's undertaken a similar sizing endeavor?

I wasn't the biggest Indy fan, but you look at enough Aldens and the bug eventually gets you for at least one pair. The dark leather, brass and commando sole of the Innsbruck did it for me. The only issue I saw was the leather wasn't perfectly attached on one shoe around the heel. It seems solid enough, and I guess only those face down on the ground looking sideways would ever notice!

    Right compared to left.

Yes, quite nervy of the missus. Imagine, interrupting a photo shoot. Thanks.

Thank you, Uncle. This model was the very first pair of Alden shoes that I ever purchased many moons ago. I have both black and King. And yes, I agree, they are one of the best models that Alden offers. The Alt Wiens are a fabulous rendition of this model (which unfortunately, I do not own.)
