1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I know. I don't wear my Whiskey LWB all that much. It's not because they don't pair well with my wardrobe, either. They are just gorgeous and even though they are worn the least I don't think I could part with them. I basiccally think I would get by with the Whiskey LWB, #8 LWB and my Tankers. But then I think that I have a shell, #8 SWB that I wear to work and I don't wear the #8 LWB casually all that much. I mainly wear them to work.

Yeah, the LHS (and maybe LWB) are the only models that I could pull off - and only casually. My more conservative wardrobe really matches #8 the best. I'm always impressed with those that can pull of whiskey in a more formal atmosphere.

I agree that your whiskey LWB are awesome. I'd have a difficult time parting with them as well...but if you ever decide you want to...

Thanks, thams. You'll be the first person I contact. But I wouldn't get your hopes up! haha!

Maybe I'll start with the 4060's and the CXL Dovers, but I'm not sure if selling the dovers will be [financially] worth it.

I've been eyeing the CXL Dovers for a while now. I just love how they look and would be an awesome spring/summer shoe. I feel like it might be overkill though since I already own the #8 Dovers. They're just so damn comfortable.

Our Cigar captoe boots on Grant are in production as per Kathy. Could be still a few more months until we get it.

Great news - one of Alden's best available models. This boot is really the one that started my Alden kick.

My CXL Dovers are one of my favorite pairs of Aldens and get worn quite a bit when the weather warms up. But I don't also own a #8 version like you do so . . .

Wondering if someone can explain to me the neo-cork sole, and how it differs from a regular leather sole? I wouldn't mind a more technical answer, if at all possible.

Wow, I am still new to Alden and after googling them I would have to agree that they are stunning. I would sell off my cordovan Bayfields in a heartbeat if I could get my hands on a pair of them.

The very first pic that came up had me sold

I hear you. I'm trying not to get too excited since I'm number 4 in line. Even though they're supposed to get in 4 pairs in my size, the Alden factory could come up short. I'll be excited once the boots are in my hands and they look good.

Call Kathy at the DC store. She'll take your info down and will call you if there's a pair allocated for you.
