Well, the poor guy is so clueless it'd be like picking on someone helpless. I'm sure he'd think I was even more weird for paying $450+ for a pair of shoes. It's best to just let the joke be on him...on here [IMG]

Fwiw, J. Gilbert in Seattle has Alden Indy boots in reverse chamois on a crepe sole, if this might be what you are looking for (http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/Shoes-Chamois_Indy_Boot_286.htm). The stock is limited to a few sizes now, but I was told they should be getting two restocks this fall.

Thanks rk, the pants are caramel duck rivets from Epaulet. Lots of members like to pair alden w Epaulet trousers. Beware, very addictive, very high quality gear.

^ yup, just as addicting as Alden. Caramel duck rivets are one of my favorite pairs of casual pants.

Nice shoes, classy response. I try not to engage if I don't think it'll benefit either party. I also think additional info on your loafers would only add to your co-workers confusion.
I LOVE to talk about shoes if someone's interested, but I only smile and carry on when someone makes a joke about my clothes.
