Those look great! I love the Argyles too.

Did they get the Saddledome drained out? I hope so! That's one cool looking arena and hockey season is just a month away (Go Bolts!) :)

Nice whiskey short wings MrDV. Mind if I ask how you care for them? If there wax polish for whiskey or do you use neutral?

I believe the Dome will be ready for the start of the season. The flood waters reached the 8th row. It's been crazy around here.

On another note, does any one else size down from trubalance to barrie? I have 405s in a 9.5EEE and these chukkas in 9EEE. Just wondering if this is just based on the style of shoe? The indys were a little snug on one foot when I bought them and have really broken in nicely. The chukkas were snug around both feet where the stitching is but have also broken in nicely. I think the added snugness is needed since I find it much harder to tighten up the chukkas so that my feet aren't flopping around in them.

Outstanding shawnc. Classy shoes. Now get your feet off of the desk and get back to work!

Nice catch BeSpiff. In my defense (and it will be considered flimsy in some quarters) the post was before 7 AM and I had been here for close to an hour.

Thanks brother.
Yeah, I bought them there.  I was thinking about the shell PTB's but went with these for now.
Next up, #8 Gunboats... need them.  Figure I'd go with a classic for my first shell.  Won't be for a while though.

BTW, what do you use on your CXL chukka's, natural cream or a coloured cream?

I have had great results with Venetian Shoe Cream and Saphir Reno' (both a neutral/clear cleaner-conditioners)

If you hit them with a brush after either of those, the CXL POPS like mad!

Stay away from wax or cream with coloured pigment, I've found( for a waxy/oily leather) the CXL tends to really soak up colour.

Leather Foot in Yorkville has Reno' in stock (last time I was there).

(Belly button) (pocket) lint,

I wear the same size in trubalance and barrie. I wear an "e" width in both, but a "d" width will work okay to pretty well on either last if I go up in size 1/2.

As between barrie-lasted shoes and my trubalance-lasted boots, I find the trubalance-lasted shoes a bit wider all around. My barrie-lasted George boots (chukka boots with a buckle instead of laces -- from the days when you could ask Alden to customize) are, however, as roomy as the trubalance-lasted boots. Others here too have said that the barrie-lasted chukkas feel particularly large.

Rishi Kakar: Would friends on the forum know if the Alden BB snap last used in its cap toe bluchers is more like the aberdeen last or more like the hampton last from Alden. Appreciate your help.

Alden equates it with the Hampton.

I really like the Snap. I prefer the Snap and the Aberdeen over the Hampton. But I have all 3.
Thanks very much!

good looking boot man. Perfect for 'cow town' weather! As a fellow Canadian, where did you cop those babies?
Thanks, they're breaking in nicely. I happened upon them at O'Connors. The 405's I picked up were new old stock as well, with the canvas liners. Someone ordered them and didn't want them and they've been sitting on the shelf for years. They let me have them for $400, so no complaints. I've lucked out on some sizes that fit.
