1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Just heard from Context. They were informed by Alden today that the Tanker order due this month has been delayed until May. They (Alden) blamed it on a shortage of #8 which sounds like crap, considering other makers (AE and C&J) both seem to have limitless amounts to play around with.

Well it's definitely the case for my order. Don't know about anyone else's. If you were on the order and haven't been contacted by Context you may be aok?

He is just being an ass. HE posts nothing useful and likes to mock everyone. I would suggest blocking him so you don't have to see his posts. that's what I do

Leffot's last tanker pre-order went up around the same time as that Context pre-order, I think. They projected May-June 2014 and wound up with early delivery in December 2013. Blaming it on a shell shortage is ridiculous and, even if it is true, why would you only inform people in the same month the boots are due for delivery? You'd know you couldn't meet that deadline months earlier. Either Alden willfully held it back from Context or Context held it from its customers.

I ordered these at the beginning of September I believe. I was always thinking a Feb delivery would be best case.

I hope you guys get your tankers soon. I'm wearing black Context tankers now, one of my best purchases

The last time I watched Context preorders, shoes arrived earlier than expected.

I just remembered that Context requires full prepayment for preorders... If delays become more frequent, retailers need to stop charging in full early. I've noticed more retailers demanding full payment upfront, which is becoming more like an interest free loan to retailers

I like the way Leffot does it where they charge you 20% up front and the remainder on delivery.

I'm looking for a pair of J Crew Cordovan PCT Boots in size 11.5 if anyone knows where I can find them. I notice that they are back ordered at J. Crew, and I don't want to wait several months. Maybe someone out there is sitting on a pair that they would consider unloading? I'd be willing to pay a little over $500 shipped. Let me know.

I realize it's a long shot, but figured I'd just throw it out there just in case...
