I think that it may be a chukka, as that model appears numerous times in other photos on theagatineeyelet, where I believe the image originated.

Edit: However, now that I look for it, I can not find it, so please don't jump down my throat if I am mistaken.

That's all folks! That's why it's a bad ad IMO. You don't even get a full pic of the box.

    I'm 99% sure that's a whiskey chukka. I remember seeing a post a few years back.

Obviously sans trees for their entire life.

Hey gents . . . . Something of a PSA. 9901's for sale on Ebay. Funny thing is, I purchased this very pair from Shoemart irregular list in 2011. Seller lists defects as "Some small scratches on the left shoe." However, if you look at the photos showing the arch area on each shoe, you can see a kind of clumsy half oval patch. Never saw anything like that before or since and couldn't figure out what kind of defect that was or even if they used shell in the patch.

    If you're referring to this:

That is jasonfoote303's photo of Whiskey shell folds while the shoe is being bent. This was posted a few years ago in this thread.

Grant last boots the flaw is how the tongue on one pair shifts from center while the other just always stays centered.

I tried different lacing, and they are well fitting. Would roughing up the inner side keep it from slipping?

Yup that's what I was looking at. Maybe I'm just sick but that still looks like a dick to me...maybe it's just the angle the photo was taken.
