1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I usually tie my laces pretty tight and noticed my eyelets on my alden x jcrew cordovan. Are my eyelets starting to come apart? Is this something I should be worried about?

Thought so, so is this something I should take to a cobbler or a QC issue with alden and I should address it with them. To be honest i've had these boots for less then a year

That is a good question. I guess they could claim mis-use. Just playing devil's advocate. But boots like that should be able to handle repeated ties! Honestly, thanks to this forum, I have seen this before and for that reason I try not to yank on my speedhooks. Besides...I loathe speedhooks, but sometimes you just don't have a choice.

Maybe you could get in touch with Alden and include some pictures instead of just sending them in. Get a feel for what they say, first.
If they were my boots, I definitely would not wear them anymore until I got it resolved.

I just don't like the way they look. I admit, I like the functionality. I just hate the asthetics.

Does all Shell shoes from Alden have the Horween stamp inside the shoe?

    Mine doesn't.

These look great Tifosi! I haven't broken mine in yet; I also have to work up the stones to wear them out. ..

I understand exactly where you are coming from. I hate taking my new babies out. But they are shoes, so you gotta let them walk... :) Once they are out a time or two, I get over it and try and enjoy them...

    Hmm mine is the opposite.
I only have one pair now. Unlined color-8 PTB.
And it doesn't have the stamp.

If they happen to cut the shell on the part with the stamp...then there is a stamp...

You are both sporting some very nice kicks today. I think more designs should sport the 8/antique look. I think it is killer, but I love antique to no end. -Mike
