I was wondering if anyone could give any advice in choosing between the Alden x Context Roy, 403's, and AF53 in terms of comfort and durability. I am looking for something I can wear daily for long hours and put a decent amount of wear on over a few years.

I've owned all three and the AF53 is the keeper. The crepe outsole on the Roy is most comfortable, but the overall construction of the #8 on commando wins out.

Two boots listed are chromexcel leather and one is shell cordovan so it is a bit difficult to compare. They are very different from one another and you need to decide which will best suit what you are looking for

+1 on the af53, one of my favorite and most worn aldens.

I'm going to assume you meant this for me. I picked these up about 3 years ago (online) from Shoe Mart.

If you're looking for shell gunboats in Toronto, the guy at "Lost and Found" on Dundas street west carry the #8 LWB.
