Based on the fact there's been few...if any shell cordovan belts available lately, and 1 piece shell belts are ultra rare, I pulled the trigger on a color 8 belt. I've got a really good cobbler near me that could change the buckle if necessary. However while its not as good as the last round of belts...I don't have any problems with an all brass buckle, specially for casual. Am I missing something here?

To each his own. Though not 1 piece I'm very happy with my allen edmonds shell cordovan belts that come with a nice silver buckle and at $165 a piece (what I paid) you could get a variety of colors for the price of one of these 1 piece belts. I guess it depends on how much you get sucked into the whole "rare" thing. i can afford one, but I'd never spend that much on a belt.

No doubt $425 is lot of bucks for a belt. One could also debate rareness of shell colors. However...I don't think the rareness of a single piece shell belt can be questioned. In addition...I'm waiting on a brown cordovan belt from AE. It's been 8 weeks. They apologized today for how long it's taken to get the belt. The reason. They say brown shell is getting hard to get.

Regardless...you are correct the price is really high!

My LS Ultimate Jumpers in Brown CXL are one of my favorite pairs of boots and I'm really wanting a pair in black. Is there anywhere that stocks a black perforated cap toe boot on either the Barrie or TruBalance lasts? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
