i believe if everyone sniped, the price would be lower.

What in the world is wrong with sniping? It is nothing more than bidding last - and making a concerted effort to do so either personally of through a service. That is what auctions are about: highest bid before suction ends. Might as well inveigh against having to paynfornauction items.

Is there anywhere other than J Gilbert to get plaza lasted boots? I love the plaza last, but J Gilbert never seems to stock large enough sizes for me (at least per their website).

I've asked the same question. Mike told me that sizing down, even between the unlined and lined Leydon offerings is usually not a great idea. Typically it's best to go for the same tag-sized Leydon between the chukka and others on the same last.

No, there's nothing wrong with sniping at all. This is why Ebay allows buyers to enter a maximum bid value and then will auto-up your bid in light of subsequent ones. If you're being sniped, Ebay assumes you've already entered the maximum amount you're willing to spend on an auction. If someone outbids that amount, then you wouldn't have gotten them anyways.

My color 8 tankers are among my most complimented shoes, so I had been searching for more split toe models. Finding these in Barrie and in rare colors was pure luck

Alden for Brooks Brothers color 8 bal wingtips

Needed a single leather color 8 for work... I liked these over the saddles due to the sleeker last

Bonus / comparison pic versus the whiskey bal wingtips. These Brooks Brothers are either on a custom BB last or on the Plaza. Notice the squarer toe and the more sleek profile versus the Tremont last (both are 10E)

Color 8 full strap. I was surprised to find that my black grant loafers quickly became my most worn Alden pair. Sometimes basic is better. A gentleman bought a pair of these in black when I was in store, he said he buys two at a time and get new ones every 7 years or so.

I usually sell shoes after these kinds of mass pick ups but its getting harder and harder to find extraneous pairs to sell
