1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I thought the StyleForum boot was through Leather Soul and was a Color 8 medallion tip boot. Could be wrong though, unless there was more than one "StyleForum Boot"

SF group MTO from which retailer? I know others have expressed an interest in that boot. Maybe we can commission another run.

I could be wrong but I think SF boot has the medallion only no captoe like Sazon's boot.

I have never ever seen another Alden shoe in the wild. I thought I did once in Sacramento, but I was afraid the guy who was wearing them didn't speak English, so I didn't approach him. *whew* that could've been awkward.

You gents may be right. All I remember is that it was a medallion toe boot, and didn't really commit any other details to memory.

    epc2 - i think you're correct on that one.

Thanks for the comments on the black boots guys.

I wish I knew where these came from. These were a gift to me from a friend who knows how much I’m shell addict.

Lack of interest has never really been the unsurmountable obstacle in this sort of endeavor. However, I wish you the best of luck if you decide to follow through with this undertaking.

when I look at the #alden tag on Instagram, I would say a large % of the pictures are from Asia. maybe up to 40%.

Right, this is the one I was thinking of:

    http://leathersoulhawaii.com/2008/06/26/alden-shoes-the-sf-boot/

In the past there have been SF members that worked with certain retailers on group MTOs (Alden DC, Epaulet, Leffot, Leather Soul), but I think this was the only one that was actually advertised as the "SF Boot" and I think it's been a long time since anyone actually had a successful group MTO actually completed with a third party retailer. There's a bunch in the works but none have been confirmed by Alden.

I've seen more and more Aldens on the street over the past year or so. Cordovan full strap and LHS are popular, as are CXL indy boots. various chukka boots (suede and cordovan) and the occasional longwing. With Leffot, Alden NYC and J Crew all moving plenty of Aldens in NY, we are going to see more and more of them. Of course, Gucci/Ferragamo bit loafers continue to rain supreme.

I agree. My first order of business when acquiring color 8 boots is to swap brown laces for black laces. My first order of business when acquiring color 8 shoes is to swap brown laces (or whatever color they come with) for black laces.

I have seen them before on the Barrie last, but I don't know what last Mac's are on. He has a good number of MTOs from when they used to do them.
