1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Thanks Mike, that's great to hear. It was a let down as I had held off purchasing for several months knowing that I would be stopping by. The next time I'm up there I'll ask for him specifically so I can get fitted for the other lasts.

    Happy New Year to you!

I don't follow - how am I a drama queen for wanting to get fitted for a shoe?

Please suggest how I should have handled it. Really, enlighten me.

And how is actually purchasing a shoe that I intend to keep *if it fits* a sumbag move?

Thanks! Gawd I hope so. This is a shoe I've dreamt about owning for years, and will be my first cordovan. It's such a classic shoe.

If I can't make it work I'm probably going to cry. No really, I probably will.

Oh yea...I thought the "3" in the name looked odd. It's probably the same guy from last week that got his posts blocked.

I could not agree more! They are classics. Good luck with the fitment and post some pics when they arrive!

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I just had an e-mail from Ed at The Shoemart and they are putting in an order for a grant lasted #8 captoe boot on a double leather sole. I just need to call and give them my info so I can get the 6E I need. He said it would be 5-6 months before arrival, but that is not bad compared to the years I have waited for some.

In my experience and most here, the Grant last runs true to size.

I wish I could find a comfortably fitting slip-on shoe. These Cigar LHS would be my first pick!

I would suggest Renomat prior to Renovateur.

Use colored Saphir Cordovan Cream instead of Renovateur if you want to even out any color variations.
