That's what I feared. I was doubtful that J Crew stocked any Alden in 12.5 or 13 but thought I would ask. I haven't heard anything from them yet regarding the nationwide search, but I'll be sure to post here as soon as I do.

If I wasn't waiting on plaza version I would have pulled the trigger. I still considered it for five minutes.....maybe longer.

I got inspired and decided to have my shoe guy "antique" the edgetrim on my longwings. Liked it so much I did my monks too!

As BeSpiff said earlier, have it. Love it.

To echo SevenFoldTieGuy, I've worn the Alden of DC makeup both casually and more formally. Get it!

Great looking shoes. I like the color differences. It used to bother me, I even returned a pair cigar boots for that very reason. I now own a few shell pairs with different shades, it doesn't bother me at all.

Gotten kind of quiet here, and I know asking for opinions usually gets lots of responses. I'm thinking of adding another pair of shell to my family and wonder what you all would recommend.

    Here's the current brood:
2 NST: Burnished Brown, and Chocolate Suede
3 LHS: Whiskey, Snuff Suede, and a #8 I'm trying to sell.
2 Boots: Ravello Brixton, and a Snuff Suede Brixton on order from J. Gilbert.

What's next, I've thought of a Shell PTB, a Shell NST, or a Shell LWB. Thoughts?
