There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Come on, its just a dyed piece of leather......i actually had a forum member contact me with a pair of new alden #4 captoe boots (the theshoemart model) for sale at retail price. I decided to pass since i already have the ravello captoe boot on commando (which I prefer to double leather on a boot). True story.:slayer:

Well you have more self-control than me then. I would be all over both of those boots. Hell, I might even where one #4 and one ravello boot at the same because I love those two colors so much.

I agree, it's not the most useful color. A lot of hype due to scarcity. People want what they can't have.

Just got these color #8 wingtip boots (plantation crepe sole) in the mail.
Amazing boots, surprised at how much more red these look when compared my other pair of #8.

Thanks everyone for chiming in on the nuances/feel of dainite soles, and where I could look into it more. Helps with me decision a lot.

So I decided to do a little cleaning of my shell today, and I may above ruined them. I applied a pretty good amount of renovateur to my left shoe, and worked it into the cordovan. Seemed like the the leather was really loving it and drinking it up, so I continued to work it in(Moreso than I ever have, which was a huge mistake) after drying for a bit and brushing, I noticed that the shell looked very matte still almost like some of the Reno was still in there, so I continued brushing, however seems like they have a) developed some type of waxy residue on them or b) the Reno removed some if the dye? Said shoe feels pretty waxy when running my finger across it while the other feels slick. Long story short, I messed up my babies and do not know how to proceed from here. Any help would be much appreciated.

Guess which one I messed up?

Realize this may be more than I can handle, so would appreciate any recommendations to any place I can send them to get fixed.

Sorry to ruin your night, gentlemen :embar:

    First, nothing is ruined.
Reno does remove some of the external finish, but it doesn't damage the shell.
I would do both shoes, then let them rest.
Tomorrow wipe them down and brush them following the Mac method.
    All will be ok.
    Finally: dont panic.

    Just in case DONT PANIC

this advice also is applicable to those threatened with serious injuries at starbucks: "Brave bystander wipes away cuts and scrapes with a soft flannel cloth and then gently brushed away glass from their punctured skin. 'all will be ok', he whispers into their ear, 'dont panic'. 'somewheeeeere oveeer the rainbow.... tah, dah, daaaahhhh'"

"when asked if he was a doctor, the man, who only gave the name 'bkotsko', insisted he learned how to treat the suffering online, on a mens only, leather fettish site, called styleform. Donna back to you."

"Donna: i think my husband is on that site. maybe it isnt so bad afterall. Tehehe"

Shuttle Tydirium?! Still a huge SW nut, at 27. No shame, I prefer that background. Disclaimer: I own, and use daily, a Millenium Falcon bottle opener.
