The ravello shell NST on the Aberdeen is a splendid shoe. You should buy it.

I am very pleased with mine.

I like my Ravello's NST on the Aberdeen last. My Whiskey shell NST that are new, but had to be fixed by Alden are on the Barrie last...I've not worn these yet I have a pair of slip on's black shell NST model 1045 on the Grant last

I also have a pair of loafers in #8 shell on Aberdeen last. Plus the ones I ordered today. A decent start of shell cordovan for the collection. I fear I will miss out many pre-orders because most don't have 13.5-14 sizes as a choice

    See Ya,
    Steve

Great to hear. I guess you are staying in Richmond then? I am a little surprised cause I thought you would come back up here, but if you have a good job that is the most important thing. Richmond is very nice.....and not that far. Good to see you around.

If you are looking for Alden's check eBay for new ones, some people got some pretty good deals from JCrew they are trying to flip. :)

OH, and you are speaking about Ed at shoemart.

Love all the ravello posted today. I would say its a great day for ravello, but it snowed a foot here in Minneapolis today. Wearing my ravello lhs in defiance of this weather.

Dude, you could post this rant in every thread in every interweb forum that has ever existed or will exist. You're spitting in the wind.

*(Well then Fido got up off the floor, and he rolled over
and he looked me straight in the eye
And you know what he said?
"Once upon a time, somebody say to me"
This is the dog talkin' now
    "What is your, conceptual, continuity?"
"Well I told 'em right then", Fido said
"It should be easy to see
    "The crux of the biscuit
    is the apostrophe"
Well you know, the man that was talking to the dog
looked at the dog, and he said
    Sort of staring in disbelief
    "You can't say that"
    he said
    "It doesn't, and you can't, I won't, and it don't
it hasn't, it isn't, it even ain't, and it shouldn't
    it couldn't"
He told him, "No, no, no"
I told him, "Yes, yes, yes"
I said, "I do it all the time
    Ain't this boogie a mess"?)

    Cigar looks awesome ughhhh.[/QUOTE]
Thanks David3558. That's very kind of you.

The boots, from L to R: LeatherSoul Ultimate Indy, Alden of DC Color 8 Grant Cap Toe boots, & LeatherSoul Alpine Grain boots on the Barrie.
The shoes, from top of pyramid to bottom (going L to R), include: Cigar LHS from Alden of DC, JCrew waxed tobacco brown LWB (no, not CXL), Epaulet CXL LWB on the Leydon (just came yesterday), Cigar shell lwb from Alden of Carmel, JCrew snuff suede LWB, & Color 8 LWB from citishoes (sadly, no antique edging, but still gets the most wear in the rotation).

I'm definitely planning on the snuff suede Leydon flex welt chukkas next, perhaps to be followed by the snuff suede UPLs on the van. My checkbook says to go with the AE Spiaggia instead of the JCrew white suede LWB. Do you guys see a reason to go with the Alden sickness over the AE?

Also, if anyone finds whiskey lwbs like the ones I regretfully passed on a couple months ago, please let me know!!

    Have a great weekend!

Thanks for providing details, your collection is awesome! I hope to be very, very close to having a big LWB collection. So far these are the LWB's I've got:

    • J.Crew Snuff Suede
    • Leffot Kudu on Plantation Crepe
    • Black Shell - 9751
    • Color 8 Shell - 975
    • Whiskey Shell (Alden of Carmel; incoming!)
    • Ravello Shell (incoming!)

All I'm wanting at this point is to find a pair of Cigar LWBs and possibly add a few more suede and CXL variants into the mix. :slayer:

If you're going to get a stick up your ass about apostrophes, it is worthwhile to point out you misspelled "purpose" wrong.

    "It is THEIR puropose"

Communication on the Internet is often written in shorthand, as was some of the content in your awesome message. Someone might get a stick up their ass about you mispelling words and using CAPS ALL THE GODDAMN TIME WITH A BILLION EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :fu:

Live, let live, and let's keep it about shoes on here. Did you know grammar nazis are the 5th ring of hell in Dante's inferno?
