More love for the underrated black shell. BB unlined LHS today.

[IMG] [IMG] To preface ... I own a pair of 9016s and so I can appreciate black cordovan. But such pictures are probably what shell detractors refer to when they say the material looks plastic. It also doesn't help that the plain toe styling is so ubiquitous, that it looks like what any mall cop would be wearing. Black cordovan really "shine" once they're broken in ... as in Mick's pair above.

To me all shell looks sorta like plastic or vinyl when new. It just has that sheen.

After it's broken in though, it turns into something really special, which is where the noticeable differences will be between a shell PTB and some mall cop shoes.

In all reality, they are more like a military officer shoe than a mall cop. Very elegant.

Mall cops mostly wear something like this:

These are kind of jazzy, but not quite my style.

I picked up some very gently used Alden x Leffot suede tassels recently in a 9.5 B/D. Not sure the fit is quite right on these - I believe they are on the Hampton last - and may be looking to unload them. Wanted to gauge interest here before posting. Would basically be looking to just recoup the cost I paid for them. Any interest?

    Picture for reference:
