My thoughts go out to Boston and its people. Greatest city in the world. Here's to a speedy "recovery"... Or as much as is possible. My condolences to anyone who lost friends or family

#1 Not only is shell thicker than calf, it seems to have more variation in the thickness. This may be causing the problem you are having. I would contact the retailer.
#2 cannot help.

So this isn't normal? I was afraid of that, I hope there is something that can be done as neither issue arose until after a full day of wear.

I found that on Alden SF website, there is a pair Navy CXL PTB. Last time I checked there is only the natural one.
Has anyone seen it in person or bought it already?

I have seen a few blue chromexcel makeups but I have not seen it mentioned on this thread. I can miss this thread for weeks though so I did not bring it up. Glad you did.

Maiden voyage with my #8 boots yesterday. End of the day, proceeding with the Mac Method, I noticed two things. #1 all of the speed hooks will rotate slightly, not fixed like my Indys. Is this normal for shell? #2 on the inside lower portion of the left boot the lining is wrinkled, this did not happen on my Indys either. Thanks in advance for any input.

#1 all the speed hooks on my shell indys rotate easily seems normal considering the way they are constructed
#2 cant help you

I saw it this weekend. It is one of the shoes featured in the window. I can't say I'm a big fan as it looks rather cheap to me. They also had some other navy CXL makeup as well--I don't recall what it was at this moment.

Spoke to Alden NYC today, I was advised there aren't any shell offering scheduled to go into production anytime soon.

my thoughts and prayers go out to those affected in Boston today.

Thanks, and I reflect the same #prayforboston.

Who would've thought? I was literally going to walk over Leica in hand to get some good snaps but was called in for a group meeting on campus - was actually furious I had to miss the action. 15 minutes after I got to my meeting we heard and I was so thankful I wasn't there.

It would make a great leather for a beef roll moc, I have seen a couple of makeups but from the pics they were not interesting. Hoping to see a pair pop up here sometime.

Thanks for the kind thoughts directed toward us Bostonians. I fortunately didn't have any acquaintances running the race this year. So sad, yet furious, by today's events. My best to those who were impacted by these F'ing cowards.
