So I had reserved a pair of those Leffot Color 8 LWB's with the antique edge trim via preorder a few months back and got the dreaded "your shoes are defective" email today. What concerns me is that I saw a pair of these available for sale in my size two days ago when the shoe was first posted on the website. Any chance they sold mine and used the excuse that mine were defective? Even if it was an extra on order, wouldn't you think that they would make sure the preordered units were good prior to putting any extras for sale on the website?

You'd sure think so. That's disappointing, though you'd think that this is the kind of shoe that can and will be reordered. On the other hand you should have them now. Not at some unknown future date.

My wife made the same witch comment when she saw these. I can't imagine any scenario where a woman would want to wear a black shell longwing heel...I guess that's why they're on sale for less than half of retail, something which is pretty much impossible for a brand new men's shell longwing.

    :foo:

I could do without this......and the video you posted of the guy touching himself while caressing his hanover cordovan shoes.

Also of note, neither video has anything to do with alden shoes or this thread

I feel for you. My e-mail was to let me know Alden somehow missed making my size. What pissed me off is that we went through hoops to make sure Alden would make my size. Alden has shit customer service. If I just forgot to do something for one of my customers I would get field.

That guy is a close 2nd to the Mac Method for shoe shines in NYC. Gives new meaning to the phrase "spit shine".

Retailers lie. A lot of times they actually have the shoe but the owner or an employee or cousin or boyfriend, wants it so they will get priority, and tell you it didn't come in or was damaged.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a shoe that I didn't like just because it said "Alden" on it, but to each his own.
If I'm not mistaken, Woodlore makes the trees and Alden, AE and others just put their name on them.
I also bought the Epics for a pair of my boots on the advice of BootSpell, and I think they are the best tree for boots that I have seen/used. So +1 to these comments.

I just moved from Pittsburgh after living there for 5 years. There were a few things that I liked about it, but not enough to outweigh everything else. (That is the most mild way that I could think of saying it.)

However, I will not hold this against you.

Sorry, I could not keep that to myself. I am very passionate about my dislike for that city.
