1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

In addition to walking perfectly...you need to have your feet modified to be exactly the same size and shape. It's a painful process but it will give you perfectly matched creases in your shoes!

If you get a letter from Arthur Tarlow, most insurance companies will cover this procedure.

Awesome ravellos sazon. I too regret not calling when I had the chance. I like the brass and light trim.

Roggie Rog, very nice looking PTB's. I believe that shell PTB's, more than any other Alden shoe, tend to show every roll and crease because of their austere styling. Here are mine. [IMG][IMG]. Don't forget the secret argyles otc. [IMG] People aren't symmetrical, and neither is the way they walk, unless your a robot. It's been said about the famous golfer Ben Hogan that he could walk into an any empty pro golfers locker room and that he would be able to match every pair of golf spikes to its owner just from their creases and from the way the heels were worn down. If you read this thread too often you'll become familiar with the equation: rolls + patina = character.

I have trained myself to walk with perfect symmetry... it takes a lot of hard work but it's worth it in the end! Lol... [IMG][IMG] [IMG][IMG]

I have heard of people using the pencil trick to try and set the creases before break-in. Has anyone tried this regularly with new shells?

Roggie Rog-here's a shot of some Whiskey Chukkas I bought new this summer. Like PTB's...Chukkas also show up creases. In addition...mine have a few spots you can't easily see unless the light is just right. Look at the toe area of the right boot. These boots have never been polished, and mainly worn indoors during the break in. The spots are from the factory and I feel as they age, get patina and get polished the spot will blend in. It's something that might drive a few members crazy but you don't easily find Whiskey chukkas in size 13D so I kept them. As you can see the creases are different too.

    See Ya,
    Steve

I absolutely LOVE Alden snuff suede. I don't have a snuff boot, but this would likely be my first choice; if not, the plain toe boot from J Crew would be the backup, although I do not care for the plantation crepe sole that comes with it. Enjoy my friend, enjoy often...

Incredible shade of color 8, DonL. They look just like my PTBs pictured a few posts back. I get more comments for my PTBs (bc of its color) than any other Alden I own. Enjoy your NST my friend!
