1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I am so in love with color 8 these days that I am thinking of selling my Cigar LWBs and buying the stock 975 Color 8 LWBs just because I think I'll get much more wear out of them.

    Am I crazy? ?

No you're not crazy. Just cause they are cigar doesn't mean you should have them over a model you'd wear more.

I love color 8, and you should certainly look into acquiring the 975. But don't sell the cigars.

You are abso-freakin-lutely correct. I wear my color 8 LWBs a heck of a lot more than my cigars. Doesn't mean you can't have both! [IMG]

BTW, your captoe boots on plaza are splendid!

My wife and I both love Oriental/Persian style carpets and spent here in Istanbul what surely is a couple of years worth of my boot addiction budget. I'm very excited to receive these carpets but there is this gnawing, bothering feeling that spending on footwear will need to be seriously reigned in for a good amount of time. I guess I'll just keep reading these threads and dream. (I do have four mto boots that are pending that will have to keep the addiction satiated.)

How did you get the coupon to apply? The JCrew website tells me it's excluded from the promo.

Sorry but it's no good anymore. It only worked for a short time - a day, give or take.

About time I put up a picture of my own Aldens. Color #4 chukkas. Nothing better than color#4 in the sunshine.

I should have bought whiskey longwings or PTBs when I had the chance instead of wingtip bals (which are harder to wear). Whiskey is an awesome casual shade.

No... The 975 is more versatile as it can be both dressy and casual while dark cordovan longwings over antique soles (color 8, cigar, etc) tend to look very casual. Those longwings are awesome weekend shoes, but they can get lost in the rotation if you have a lot of other weekend shoes/boots (as you do). I find myself reaching for the 990 more than the Leffot LWB these days, which is kind of shocking. I expect to wear the Leffot LWB more when I break out the heavier tweed pants (antiqued longwings really excel with those).

Plus, the Cigar LWBs and the Leffot Antique LWBs are more or less the same shoe, and you have both. Cigar probably my favorite shell color but I sold my cigar LWB due to lack of wear.
