1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

i got very little use out of the 975s, so i sold them. didn't quite fit into the rest of my wardrobe, which for work is very far on the casual end of the spectrum. just couldn't wear them without feeling self conscious. sometimes the problem with forums is that you get a little wrapped up in the "timeless + classics" (and rare shells in the case of this thread) without considering if it fits in with your wardrobe/life circumstances.

I know there are people here who wear an E on the Barrie, but I feel like there have to be just as many who need a C, but have typically settled for a D due to availability. Same goes for the LHS. Many here wear a D on the Barrie but need a C for the LHS, yet they are very hard to find.

Your statement in bold is very true, and is a lesson I've certainly learned, and have to constantly remind myself of.

(BTW, Chipshot: Hampton 9D, Van 9C, Aberdeen 9D. Sort of an unusual shaped last though. Really one that should be tried on, but I guess that applies to all of them. Narrow in the toes, and just a weird heel, at least for me.)

^ Bakes .. Thanks for the heads up. Going Aberdeen 9D loafer. If it were a tie model NST I'd go 9.5 but it's a loafer with a very low vamp ... It will move .. Funny, I've been thinking going to a C in the Van Lined myself.

I am TTS 9.5D and Barrie 9D but I wear a thin insole with all my laced shoes. For loafers I wear no insole and I hate heel slippage, so I go 9.5B for the Aberdeen and 9C/9B for the van. I have various shell tassels and full straps and also a tassel in Mocha kid suede, all in 9.5B. My suede model is the roomiest.

Just wanted to extend a hearty thanks to those who offered suggestions on the waxed cotton fall coats to pair with my Aldens. It was helpful to see pics and to hear that my instincts are on track. Guess there will be at least one more purchase I need to justify--not only to dear wife, but also to myself :)

    Have a great day, Gentlemen!

^^ That is a pretty nasty scuff, Sazon. Best of luck getting it all fixed up!

Methinks you'll be boning all night long sir!

On another note, the Crockett & Jones whiskey cordovan Harlech MTO is now active and orders are being placed. Have a look at the MTO thread if you're interested - looks like it will be a pretty awesome boot.
