Here are mine. 6 months old, worn about twice a week. Lots of scuffs you can feel and see but don't show up on pictures; brushing does magic on those boots![IMG] Oh, and a question, the tongue piece on the right foot is twisted and curved to the right, and after few minutes of walking, it almost completely shifts to the right. Is this normal (I am guessing not, because it is only happening on the right foot), and can this be fixed?

Only because he has already paid a non refundable deposit to Leffot, and was saying he could switch his preorder order. Outside of that, of course I would go with the 9751 from TSM or Alden SF. Indeed, I bought my 9751s at Alden SF. In that same vein, I have never quite understood why some buy stock models from specialty shops, particularly those shops that have a no try on or no refund policy. Confusing .... :nodding:

Yeah, pretty 'normal' for Indy boots actually.

Tassel or LHS. I know, those weren't options, probably too old man-ish for you.

That is a solid line-up you have already.

(We need more smiley emoticons to work with, like an applause)

My favorite Aldens (Leffot's cigar Atoms). These are pleasure to wear, extremely comfortable, light and actually very sleek. Mac Method in progress.

I'm very happy that I got these.

    question regarding LHS.

I have been looking for a pair of loafers that fit right on and off for a few years. no real luck except for some cheap bass weejuns but that was only when they were *really* small on me.

i guess the issue is, i get that loafers are for loafing an' all, but am i having unrealistic expectations regarding expecting to be able to walk about a reasonable amount without heel slippage?

Really tempted by the unlined BB #8 LHS - but before i try them for size --- I just wanted to check how you guys size your Alden Loafers - when you try them on are they *really tight and snug* / almost too tight? ... how should i think about heel slippage and walking .. is it just too be expected? One advantage with shell i guess i that i need not work too much about them stretching too out.

Advices appreciated. Sure i could sell them if it doesnt work out - but it is a lot of dollar to drop.

When they are broken in your heel shouldn't slip at all. They shouldn't be too tight when new. A tiny bit tight when new is acceptable.

In short, your expectations are not unreasonable.

Check out Rancourt's loafers also. High level of customization available, and they'll send you some to try on before you buy.

Edit: Maybe not if you are in the UK, but maybe they would.

Also, I find that the unlined LHS is pretty forgiving about heel slip even if the fit is sloppy, as it is much more flexible. The lined version is another story.
