1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I have a question about the barrie last, hoping that someone can help me out. I am thinking about getting a pair of the JCrew cap toe boot in #8, but am a little unsure about the barrie last. I wear a 12D in the AE 1-511 last, and wear a size 12D in wolverine 1000 mile boots. Wondering if anyone here can comment on sizing. From what i've read, seems an 11.5D would work.

Secondly, wondering if anyone with that boot, or a similar barrie lasted boot, can post a birds-eye view. I'm not sure if the barrie is going to be too wide for my liking or not. Ideally, I would want it a little bit sleeker than the 1000 mile boot, but not as sleek as the AE 1-511 last.

Any info you can send my way would be much appreciated.

im TTS 12 in the appropriate alden lasts (not familiar with AE last numbering) and went 11.5 for the jcrew pct boot.

excuse the poor picture quality, have to use my iphone and the lens is smudged. coincidentally, this is their first wear on concrete. my #8 indys seem to get the nod most of the time it seems

Thanks guys. I once spent 4 months trying to sell this boot; glad I didn't. Would have felt the same remorse when I sold my #8 captoe boot from leathersoul.

My Taste in boot, styles, colors changes from season to season. Typically take a year before I know for sure whether a boot (was) is a keeper. I would place any rare shell boot in the keeper category

Dude, I remember when you were thinking about attempting to stake the stitching out of the toe... Glad you didn't go through with that one

Another pic of a size 11.5 jcrew boot; this one from last week. I am tts 12 and Barrie (in d width) is slightly loose with a dress sock. Fine with an athletic sock. Size 11.5 1k mile boot has a similar voluminous quality to it

    ohhh lawwdy

. I cringe thinking about it. Other members may recall that I also sprayed a white suede chukka blue and when that didn't work out I rubbed it down with blue polish. I may have also removed the lining from a Trickers captoe...
