1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

My Grant boots fit me really well. I can wear them with both thicker and thinner socks without an issue. So if the Aberdeen fits more snugly, then it sounds like 8.5 would be perfect as I'd be exclusively wearing thin socks. Thanks for the input!

That would be awesome! I've been eyeing that George boot which is also on the Aberdeen.

Based on my very limited experience, I would try 8.5D on the Plaza. I tried a 8D on the Plaza and it was too small for me. Really bums me out to because now I very much want a Plaza #8 captoe in 8.5D on the Plaza but I can't find one :(

    Sazon, sazon, sazon....
I am happy for you because you seem like a nice guy, but you know how I feel about these boots.
I too remember finding out too late to get a pair of these. Could you put me out if my misery and take a side by side picture of your ravello sw boots and these? I remember you posted a few when your #4 were brand new. id like to see how the color has aged in comparison to your ravello.
Either way.... I hate you. I mean nice boots.

I forgot that you have tried the Plaza. How was the length on the Plaza in 8? I know you have a lower volume foot than I do, so what was the issue with the fit? Just cramped all around?

Aberdeen is Alden's most narrow last, and is particularly narrow in the toebox. The rule of thumb is true-to-size in Aberdeen, so 8.5D for you. Personally, I am an "e" width, and wear the same size in (length and width) in Aberdeen and Grant.

I am on their list for a 8.5D captoe but it looks like it won't be in until next year.

Yes, LS said they didn't have any 8.5. JG put me down for a pair but will be next year.

Length was a bit too short and my toes were cramped width wise. The ankle fit great and the proportions were awesome, beautiful boot. Overall I think the Plaza would fit me better than the Grant, I have found the Grant to just have too much leather around the ankle and instep for me.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll start at 8.5D.
JGilbert has a NST blucher on plaza, but in 8E. I doubt that will work.

So as not to search through this entire super-long thread, does anyone have any pics or links to pics of Alden shell cordovan shoes/boots that have not been pampered, but beat up and "lived in"? Thanks in advance.
