You didn't happen to notice if there were any boots there...of the suede variety?

Didn't notice any suede specifically, although they had a good number of boots out. I'm sure you can call.

Looks like The Shoe Mart has a bunch of new Alden styles up on their website.
    No pics yet tho..

I guess we'll have to wait to see what an
"Alden Men's Algonquin Blucher Oxford Calfskin Contoured Depth Brown" looks like.

I think it is a bit interesting but I have a somewhat mixed feelings about it.
I think it could be a good casual shoes worn in the spring/summer.

    What do you guys think?

I like them a lot, but I've only seen them sold in Japan.

I don't like them. They should fit the same as the 405's though. They're also not new, Alden used to make and sell them as "work shoes".

Leather Soul and Winn Perry will be selling them I think, if they're not already.

^ the leather on the indy lows look different though, more similar to the Ultimate indy's that leathersoul carried. For such work-wear type looking shoes I would just stick with the boots personally.

can't begin to decide AF53 #8 or Indy #8. Can somebody tell me why I should choose one or the other? They would be almost exclusively worn with jeans i.e SDA, Samurai etc. The stray chino now and then. I know its personal preference but I can't decide and this is my last purchase for a while. Kids are killing my shoe budget.

I just went back and forth on this choice also. I just placed an order for the AF53 #8 boot to wear with jeans etc, to me a slightly more versatile style. I like the Indy also, but prefer them in a more rugged look like you get with the Ultimate Indy from Leathersoul.

Coincidentally I've lately been thinking about getting either a pair of the AF43's or 53's. Waiting to hear back from adam on stock though...

The NYC Alden store seems to be the only place where you can have special orders done, and even then it seems to be on a case by case basis. They might say yes and they might say no.

The DC Store is a great place to get the non standard shoes. This fall they are getting some Longwings in Revello. My name is on the list!
