1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I believe so. I ordered the #8 PCT boots when they had that working 20% off code, and my card hasn't been charged yet. My size was on back order and they're supposed to be in by Sep 12, so we'll see next week if that happens.

Not black or plain toe - that's actually a cigar captoe boot on the grant last with commando soles. Purchased from Alden DC. The grant last makes that boot look pretty sleek. They sell it in black and color 8. Alden NYC and Shoe Mart sell versions on double leather soles in black and color 8. Overall the straight tip captoe boot is a great model that a lot of people on the thread own...

Denim looks fantastic with the color 8 PTBs. Nicely paired.

Wow, I can't believe how dark that Cigar is. It looks sublime. It almost looks like a black plain toe to me. I searched the shoe mart, and are these the shoes you are alluding to?

If so, i've had my eyes on those for a little while now. But I might go for a pair of perforated cap toe boots first, a little bit more casual, which is how I would use them.

There is nothing about these saddles that I don't love. Antique welt, multi-color heel, absolutely gorgeous color 8. Man these are nice.

Were they the same ones here?

I'm looking into these, and i'm hoping these are a more of a brown vs the orange everybody has been saying they are.

89826, Vestbash is correct. What type of pants would you pair the pebble tassels with? Khakis?

Quote: I like my denim a little starchy. Also, applause on them not being excessively tight, or the cuff being excessively wide. You seem to have mastered the art of moderation with this pair.[IMG]

I have a question for everyone here. What percentage of your Alden shoes would you say to be in shell? Just from what I have followed here in the last month or two, it seems that for the most part, people here are most interested in Shell, then Suede, then regular calf skin last. I don't know if I've seen any calf skin boot other than the Indy come up in photos here. Just a curious observation.

    I have:

    6 Shell
2 CXL (both i'm planning on getting rid of, LS ultimate indy and LS Plaza Wingtip CXL)
    2 Suede

    so 60% shell.
