I'm looking to pick up a pair of Alden cap toe boots in size 10 (Barrie) if anyone is holding.

Is there a consensus about what to do if you always take an E size but really want something that only comes in D? I am usually an 8E is the TTS Alden lasts (except for a Leydon that doesn't believe in pinky toes), but I was smitten by something in a Grant that only comes in D. Could sizing up a full size solve the problem? It's a boot, so being a little big could be compensated for somewhat.

I go up .5 size and that seems to work in general. I wear 10.5e/11d Barrie and find 11d Grant works well.

Has anyone had there Indy heel pad replaced with something more durable? Mine are spent in 3 months. I do where them almost everyday but still disappointed to say the least. I've had soles on boots that cost 1/2 as much last 10 times as long. Also looking to up my rotation in the very near future.

Gotta quote these photos, grant last is amazing. Really should get a pair of the Alden DC captoes but just can't bring myself to spend $700 for Aldens anymore
