1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Leather Soul Tanker Boots ready to take me out to a friend's farm to pick some sweet corn. I do live in Iowa, after all. I love these boots and they have served me well so far. The commando sole is perfect for snowy and muddy situations.

I hear you about the two-tones.
I don't regret buying them but I just don't wear them that often.

Pretty nice corn picking boots you got there McPryon. I know how you feel, I live in Minnesota. How's about a pic after you've walked a couple of rows. Thanks.

Actually, it wasn't so bad out in the field. A little damp, but no terrible mud like I was expecting.

Thanks, gents. Pictures definitely do this pair justice. I'm so glad I happened upon them. I was unsure about the commando sole at first, but it's growing on me...especially when I'm not slipping and sliding in the winter.

Good shine on your wingtips RK. Very summery with the white pants. Nice.

I think this is usually 2nd busiest, next to the SW&D WAYWT Discussion thread.

I'm truly humbled RK in the midst of my jealousy of your Alden wardrobe.

Very nice, both the shoes and the combo with white slacks.

Question about the Mac Method....what type of cloth do you guys use for parts 1 (wipe down with a damp cloth) and 3 (buff with cloth)? Do you use the same type of cloth for both parts? Does it make a difference which type of cloth you use? Interested to hear thoughts and I wonder if there will be differing opinions.

Well that didn't take long...Decided to check out the stock of the black shell captoes on Grant from TSM. Sure enough they had them in stock. So...sure enough I bought them. Finally, some instant Alden gratification (relatively). Hopefully get them early next week.

OK. Now I'm really done till some exotics come up.

I, personally, use a cut up cotton Tshirt for both parts. I have been thinking of moving to microfiber as I have heard at least a couple members use it with good results.

Just so you know, I've never participated in a preorder but have been contemplating the offerings at Leffot. I've heard that unlike others, they don't take preorders until they already have a commitment from Alden. This should virtually eliminate the years-long wait I've read about from other vendors. Their 20% down policy also is more than reasonable. Ok, back to the quote. It was only after seeing how great your broken-in boots look that I was able to convince myself to take the plunge. I have a pair of #8 chukkas, but these will be my first shell boots. Seriously, your boots look great. Man, I have got to get off of this site!! This stuff is addictive.
