1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I think Venetian shoe cream and a good brush are the best.

I see that Context have a snuff suede Roy Boot with waterlock sole available. Doesn't say anything about a pre-order which suggests they're available now? They look pretty nice to me.

I'm looking forward to receiving the Rough Roy in early September.

i find Trubalance to be the same or, if any difference, a bit wider than barrie. Obviously, your fit is different. But Grant is narrower than both, so 11EEE or even quadruple E.

When I bought my Indys at the Madison store they only had 11E or 10.5EEE in stock and 10.5EEE was the better fit. 11E in shoes works, and it's an easier size to come by.

    Oh...

I guess I need to try a pair on the Grant last before I decide to buy.

+1. As a Pgh'er, I am curious about this as well. While I've yet to purchase anything from Nettleton's, I work pretty close to his store and have talked to him a few times. Talk about a nice and knowledgable owner. If I could find something unique, I would love to give him some business.

On Sale at J. Crew: 20% Off Alden and Alfred Sargent Footwear

Use promo code WIT20 for 20% off everything. Yes, everything. Hat tip to midwestablishment, who I’m pretty sure alerted me to J. Crew’s last glitch sale.

Well that was fast. I really was kidding about J. Crew making a promo code that works for their new Alfred Sargent footwear, but apparently that’s what’s going on here.

    Don’t expect this to last.

Alfred Sargent Footwear at J. Crew

    Double Monk Strap in Mahogany

    Wingtip Brogue Boot in Mahogany

    Balmoral Cap-Toe Oxford in Black

    Longwing in Mahogany

    Alden Footwear at J. Crew
Sheesh, there’s like 20 models. No way I’m linking them all here. These are my favorites:

    Indy 405 Boot

    Shell Cordovan Longwings

    Shell Cordovan Captoe Boots

    Waxed Longwings

    Dark Brown Longwings

^ someone posted that here last week and the code is still valid, I can't believe it's been working for so long and they haven't disabled it for Alden. I keep looking at the perf captoe #8 boots, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

    need some sizing advice

I'm i right in thinking that a 6.5D Trublance is just slightly wider than a 6.5D barrie but the length is the same?

    thanks

Yep it still works! I was also looking at the captoe #8. I may go with the suede split toes, tho!

I have been looking at those too #8 captoes too Beatlegeuse. But I would be a dead man if certain people found out about those boots.

I can't believe J.Crew has kept that code going so long. I'm curious if they'll honor it for those backordered Aldens.

That is hard to pass up. I wonder if it would matter that they are backordered?
