1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Trying to decide which to get....the Indy 403 Chromexcel or the Indy Natural Chromexcel? Is there a consensus on what's better?

I prefer the 403, but others may say differently.

It really comes down to which color YOU prefer. I'd make a strong case for both!

How did he achieve this kind of patina? Any guesses? I'll defintely get the Natural Chromexcel Indys if I can get them to end up like this.

Probably just by wearing them. Natural patina. The best kind.
I wasn't leaning towards the natural Indys until you just posted that pic with the other variants. I really dig them. Might have to get them before the 405.

403 if you are going to wear them in the rough. Natural looks like it will age well.

MrDV, here's hoping that your day is as bright as the shine on your shoes. Alden #8 LWB - "The Classic American Gunboat". Keep wearing them in good health sir.

If I wear 11E in Barrie shoes and 10.5EEE or 11EE in Barrie/Trubalance boots, what would be my size in the shell cap toe boot on the Grant last?

If the trubalance is wider than Barrie why do you wear EEE in Trubalance and E in Barrie?just curious.

Great looking boots Elliot! I've been getting the itch for some Indy's myself. What kind of soles are on those boots? Unlike some of our illustrious cognizetti on this thread I can't immediately look at a pair of Alden's and discern style number, make-up, and who sold them when and where, but I'm learning.

Maybe ShoeMart? The Leffot version has a commando if I'm not mistaken. Not sure who else does a natural Indy...

tifosi, is your name also Elliott?

Mine are from The Shoemart. The first pic is after 2 years, the second (hanging on wall) is not mine. The next 5 are right out of the box and the last one is my PTB after 1 year. The sole is the neocork, which is the same at the 403 and 405. I posted the different pics to show how CXL changes over time. Most people only post their beat up CXL, but I keep mine brushed and apply a little Venetian Shoe Cream. The CXL develops a good shine and is extremely comfortable.
