the pronounced stitching on the left boot looks much better, imo.

Found this pair of Aldens at Goodwill for $19.99. Can anyone give me any info on them? The soles are practically new. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I would like to see Alden battles, in the manner of Pokemon, to settle these bickerings.

    "#8 NST, go! . . . use . . . Granny Knot!"

"It's Super Effective! Tobacco Suede Chukka Boot fainted!"

This has to be the funniest thing I have ever read in an SF forum.

I am not sure, but for $19 you can't complain. You could email pics to Alden, they may know.

The reverse chamois I am referring to are Indys. They took preorders several months ago- they were nice enough to change my order from reverse chamois to cigar just last week, so there is a spare 9E if you want it....

    damn. that's my size.

Is the J. Gilbert pre-order list different than contacting Adam from Alden of Carmel?

Whiskey chukkas and black denim today.

Can you can see there is some water damage on the side of the boot? It's from when I got stuck in a downpour.

Does anyone know if I can get rid of it somehow?

I can see the damage you are talking about. I think the best (and only) thing to do is just wear them and over time the marks will blend in to the rest of the leather.

^ I heard Saphir Renovateur works wonders. http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=161026

Forgot about Renovateur, that's good advice.

Also, I wouldn't call it damage--it's just a slight discoloration. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, The only person who will notice is you. It eventually will just be part of the patina.

Yes. Even though J Gilbert Aldens are listed on the Alden of Carmel site, you need to call the store directly. Ask for Katie.

Does anyone know of a place in Los Angeles I could get fitted for or at least try on some Aldens? Specifically, Indy boots?

Carroll & Co. also have a Pasadena location, if that's closer.

Thanks for all the tips about my whiskey shells. I'm not too worried about it but just thought I'd ask.

Now I definitely want to get my hands on some Renovateur!
