I'm sure they're wonderful. I doubt Alden makes an awful piece of footwear.

I added this link to the Alden FAQ (http://www.styleforum.net/t/85589/the-official-alden-thread/40515#post_6030645)

We should add a couple of things to the FAQ if anyone wants to contribute:

    1) Photos of all of the different sole options
    2) Photos of the different edge trim options
    3) Maybe a list of things to check when you get new Aldens, typical flaws, which ones are normal, which ones are deal breakers

Anything else? Feel free to PM because this thread moves fast I might miss it.

First time posting on the Alden thread. I just received my new cigar indys, I've been staring at them for about an hour now. I wear a size 8d would the 6-8 or 8-10 shoe trees work best does it even matter. I know my Edward green trees are lasted but I don't believe the Aldens are? Considering the drastic differences in lasts I can't see how the same pair of trees could work with say Aberdeen and Barrie, just my .02.

i've seen it as high as $90, but i paid $60 at LSBH. very fair price for what it is, in my opinion.
