1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Gents,

Where did the Ravello shortwings come from and are they Aberdeen? Those are fantastic. I'm a huge Aberdeen/shortwing fan. It is possibly my favorite shoe and I wish it came in more leathers/colors than the burnished tan. I'd wear them three times per week to the office.

    Thanks,
    Todd V

I think Leather Soul had the Ravello shortwings on Barrie last....not 100% positive, I'm sure someone else can confirm. I do remember them selling out instantly, it probably wouldn't have mattered what last they were on.

I believe all of Leather Soul's shortwings (ravello, color 8, black) are on the barrie. Sometimes, different patterns make the barrie last look sleeker than say a PTB or a longwing. This seems true of the shortwing pattern and also of the NST pattern.

Are you able to notice a difference between the original last being used vs the original last not being used? Or have you discovered that it doesn't really make a difference?

Anyone have any pics of the suede Dover in the wild? Love the look of these, would I be the same size as I am in my Suede Chukkas? Thanks,

I luckily got 2 pair (snuff and tan) from NRO when Alden mistakenly made it through on a couple of their sales. I ordered non-stock sizes, so they took a long time to ship, but it was worth the wait and I'm glad I got the discounts!

Haberdash has them for slightly lower than TSM or Leffot, but it can be iffy with them in terms of what width they send. They don't specify on their site and ended up sending me an E when I thought it was going to be the standard D

Sherman Brothers in Philadelphia has lower in-store prices for shell. Not sure about suede. Would depend on your being in the area of course, since travel costs would negate the savings and then some.

    sherman's website has retail $488
alden store in NYC has retail $488- said they wouldn't discount (and tax for me)
harberdash has below retail, maybe a slight discount $460 but no HTTPS/SSL?

In-store discount on shell at Sherman Bros. is about 10%. Calling might work. Can't hurt. Free shipping.
