1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I am right there with you. I was not going to pay that much money for a belt with a buckle I didn't like.

I wore work boots in my job(jobs) for over 50 yrs . Indys are by a long shot the most comfortable I 've worn . I did not wear them for work however as I DESTROYED boots

I agree with the other replies to this question --- very comfortable boot. But I find the neo/cork sole to be quite heavy. At least I think it's the sole. My other Alden boots with double leather soles aren't as heavy and I don't think it would be the Indy boot uppers that would make the weight difference. When/if I resole them, I think I'll go commando/vibram.

Agreed. Given the weight of the neo-cork sole, I'd rather just have the commando.

we need more shell, their isnt enough of it. its reflected in the 30% + price difference compared to calf and the 1 year+ wait that many retailers/shoe manufacturers quote when inquiring about the availability of shell.

Anyone have the CXL Color 8 belt? I wonder how close it is to Alden Color 8? I don't feel I need a shell belt if that matches fairly well.

I hav the Rancourt Carmel belt and shoe and love them. The Carmel is definitely lighter than Whiskey but noty a huge difference.

    See Ya,

Don L - those Alt Wien's are fantastic, wish they were available in my size.

RE: shell shortage - I am completely buying into the hype that there is a shortage, because it is the only logical way to explain why the Epaulet Ravello Brixton pre-order is nearly at 30 months and counting.

Also note that we are not seeing any new shells being released other than Color 8 and Black currently.

I believe Alden is focusing on their bread and butter models like the 975, 9901, etc., since they likely want to be able to supply those as a priority over anything ravello, whiskey or cigar, and also over any special make-ups.
