There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Hundred, do ever take those #8 plain toe boots off-road, or are they strictly an urban animal?

    [IMG][IMG]Guys ,

I need some help , I ordered my first pair of Alden , I don't have acces to Alden stores so ordered them online and I'm in the process of finding my right size , This pics are of a 9.5d , they feel comfortable but they are soft suede , I'd like to make sure of my size before I order the more expensive shell ones.[IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

You guys think I should try an E? , I'm normally D width in Cole Haan, florsheim etc , and EE in italian loafers( Ferragamo etc , but these run very narrow).

    Your help is apprecciated .

    Thanks.

And to make sure these are on the Barrie last since I'm no expert with these codes etc.[IMG]

I also read somewhere on this thead that the shell LWB are a bit roomier than the PTB, is that true?

    Thanks.

Mind if I ask where you've located a pair of snuff suede tassel loafers? It is a model I've been hunting down for quite some time. Thank you.

Disagree 100% that Plaza looks too dressy for denim.

All of JGilbert's color 8 boots on the Plaza go great with denim (and many other things).

Unipair and Brooks Brothers have them

I have the snuff LHS so I will not get the tassels. A tan tassel loafer would be great though...

    Jerks. Only carry D widths.

Unipair also carries Alden snuff suede tassel loafers.

Calceo speaks the truth. I've had very good luck calling Alden correct or the retailer who sold me the shoes. Actually, last time it happened, the retailer sent me three sets of laces.

Some SF members have had good luck estimating their Alden sizes and ordering online. Some have not.

And there really is no substitute for trying on a variety of sizes. The difference between a 9.5D, 9.5E, 10C, 10D, or even 9EE is not that much. Even though small changes in size can dramatically effect your comfort.

It might take some time and expense to reach an Alden dealer, but if you expect to stay with the brand it will help you for many years to come. Just remember that some dealers carry a narrow range of sizes. The three Alden branded stores, San Francisco, NY, & DC are the most likely to carry a range of widths.

I agree. Leathersoul had an Alden make-up of a tan suede tassel loafer in the past, but does not have it now.

Personally, I would love to see a longwing tassel loafer in snuff suede and tan suede. As the young folk say, that would be epic and boss.

Start a MTO list. I would go for the snuff suede.

Perhaps. But from what I have seen here and other threads, getting a MTO going with Alden is a long, difficult, uncertain proposition -- and I mean uncertain as in virtually zero chance of getting it done even with time. It seems like it would be much easier to simply go to another manufacturer -- as threads on the forum illustrate -- that is more geared towards MTO. In other words, it appears that MTO with Alden is, at the moment, swimming upstream whereas it is welcomed by other manufacturers, I suspect because it is their business model.

I am happy to be helfpul, however, so if anyone is interested in any of these make-ups, please PM me expressing your interest: (1) longwing tassel loafer in snuff suede; longwing tassel loafer in tan suede; (3) NST blucher in snuff suede; (4) NST blucher in tan suede, please PM me with your interest. I am thinking each is on either a single leather sole or a single waterlock sole. If you PM me, let me know your preference as to sole.

If I get a minimum of 12 settled on a shoe, I will approach an Alden retailer about doing it.

I think Ben Silver may also have at one point. Don't see it on there at the moment, however.

I agree about the Tan Tassel. I know where you can find a milkshake tassel. PM me if interested.

    Leffot has done one.

I've checked the BB one but they never seem to have E widths available in my size. I've also inquired about Unipair's version but they are asking for 620 which is a little more than I'd be willing to pay for a suede model (might as well get cordovan!).

Thanks for the heads up guys I'll keep my eye on the BB website and see if my size ever pops up again. I wish it was a model Alden just had on stock. I just can't get behind the texture of their mocha kid suede...

It's difficult in that you need to organize about a dozen buyers who agree on the makeup details and follow through with paid deposits. It's long because it very well may take nine months or more to confirm the order. It's uncertain only when asking for exotic shell colors (which are very popular MTOs).

But, yes, MTOs are easier with other manufacturers.
