Yeah I'm fine, thanks for asking. I'm letting them go because some people around me could use help more than I need a couple extra pairs of shoes regardless of how much I love them or how lucky I was to get them. As i said before Id like them to go to some regulars in here as I know they will go to someone who really appreciates them.

I must say, thats a very classy move on your part. In the end these shoes are just luxuries. Friends and family are whats important and I would make the same move as you if someone was in need. There will be other special make ups in the future and I don't doubt that you will be fortunate to scoop them up.

God damn j crew can piss up a rope and this is the last time I order anything from them. Right now I have 1,300$ tied up on my credit card for 1 pair of aldens.. Also the pair is heading to an apartment I use to live in 3 years ago 4 states away, despite repeating my current shipping address 3x on the phone.. blows my mind that you could fuck up a simple order to this level.

Will stepping from a 8.5 to a 9 in Barrie last give me a bit extra width in the midfoot area?

Is 8.5E and option for you? I wear either 10.5E or 11D to get the width I nedd if no E is available.

christmas came early for me, I snagged a pair of Alden AF53 boots from theshoemarts seconds list. They arrived yesterday, very pleased. I have had mixed results with alden seconds from theshoemart and most I have returned. This pair has one tiny blemish (scratch) on one boot, very insignifant blem and not even noticable without very close inspection. Not bad for $285 off retail ($685).

I was initially averse to the brogueing on the J. Crew color 8 perforated cap toe boot but am trying to come around on them as I love the flat welt, closed heel, and Barrie last. Has anyone else been able to warm up to them after initially disliking that detail? Or should I just spend the extra $200 on a non-sale pair of the new LS boot or a straight cap toe boot and live with the 360 welt?
