1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Yeah I think if you go to store with clear picture of what you want and tell the SA that then it's fine if he / she then recommends another pair. That way you did go to store for something and maybe they didnt have it. But if an SA is gonna act rude or not seem interested I wouldn't buy from them in most cases. Barneys is always filled with especially fake SAs (and I think Barneys in NY has alden) who go out of their way to try to sell you something.

Wear and enjoy the ones you already have. That's what I'm trying to do. (But I know where you are coming from [IMG] )

I'd love a whiskey LHS and I am very close to getting the color 8 saddle. I have some preorders with Leffot and LS

At some point I will move on from Alden, but not yet... Not yet

Can someone share some pics of well worn brown CXL's? Considering a pair of ptb's and would like to see how they age.

I really like, and own, both of said models. I say go for it. Both are classic and timeless.

I have three pairs of unlined suede. And maybe four pairs of lined suede. They are all great. The unlined suede is softer, more flexible, and seems to breathe better. I wear my unlined suede sans socks, and it feels awesome.

My opinion is based on wear with or without socks. Unlined feels great without socks. Lined I feel more comfortable with socks. Of course, opinions will vary.

Holy spectators! Are those Modified Last? This could be bad for me . . .

Man, can I relate!! In those cases, I scratch the itch by investing in some denim from Blue Owl or chinos from Epaulet. Worked for me.

I think we are likely to see the kudu mto before the Thor boot.

Thanks. Good looking boots. Interesting how brown cxl doesn't seem to show nearly as much change as a natural cxl. I tired on a pair of the new unlined brown cxl ptb at epaulet and they're really comfortable. Just wonder if I wouldn't be happier with natural cxl after enjoying shell's character so much this past year. Edit: actually, I just checked and yours do look much more golden than a new pair. I can see that now. Nice.

Marcoliani merino otc are the business. They also make some super brightly coloured argyles in Pima cotton for hot weather.

Those boots just scream "let's go to work". Very nice! At some point I'll have to get some 405's. I like the originals and have admired the Indys in cordovan, but your cxl's are kick in'.

I scuffed up the edge trim on one of my cigar PTB's this week. I've no idea how it occurred. I didn't want to use a dark brown edge trim as I wanted to keep the visible layers of the stacked leather sole. I only have brown & black edge trim, both AE branded.

To add color to the scuff, I touched it up with AE's Walnut cream polish ("Premium Shoe Polish" in the tube). For reference, AE's walnut shoes are a light to medium brown. I then applied a thin layer/small amount of AE's brown carnauba wax polish to the entire edge trim. IMO it came out well.

Before & After pics below. In the before images, I bumped up the exposure & sharpening to make the damage more easily visible.

    Thanks!

I've spent most of my career (~17 yrs) working on the commercial side (sales) of biotech. There are days (weeks and even months) that I think, "there's gotta be a more interesting way to put food on the table."

Feel free to send 'em up to Newburyport. However, if you are a brannock 11D or barrie 10.5D, I can't guarantee that they'll make it back to you [IMG].

This could potentially scratch that itch.
