    BARRON'S! ...the Alden of periodicals!

I used to have a subscription, but by the time the next week's issue arrived, I hadn't had time to read last weeks.

I thought they said you were an accountant? Are you really in finance?

Hey guys, I have some excess wax built up on the vamp of my color 8 longwings which is preventing a proper shine. Any recommendations on how to remove it? I was going to try a damp cloth then Reno but was hoping some of the veterans could weigh in on their prefered technique. Apologies if this has been addressed previously. Thanks in advance.

Phipsi, have you ever used that stuff? I wonder if it's safe for cordovan? I know you have yet to delve in to the realm of shell. You recommended it too me over the summer as something that could help take the meltonian shoe polish off my Dad's cordovan loafers. He covers up the natural beauty of the shell with the stuff, and part of me wants to help him out, but the other part tells me to just let the man do as he pleases.

Uncle Mac, do you have any guidance on the matter?

Edit: Looks like Hanger Project says its safe for cordovan, but than warns to test it on a small hidden portion of the shoe, as it can be too harsh for some leathers.

It is safe for shell. I have used it.

In my experience, it worked good - but not great.
