AofSF said they have cigar indy's on the barrie (yes, I found that unusual as well). Give them a call.

So who has any experience with the Alden Water-Lock Double Sole shoes. Specifically, how do they ride relative to the normal double oak leather soles on the LWB. I've had the Flex Welt on some unlined single sole Chukka's and did not care for it at all, very sloppy feel without much support. I have lousy feet from eons of competitive running and need mucho stiff support as is offered in the Alden Double Leather line. Reviews please... thanks...

^ A double waterlock sole is indistinguishable from Alden's regular double sole, at least in my experience.

My recent J Crew sale snags are still just sitting out there. Others have said they honor the mistake, but I won't believe they went through until I get a shipping notice. I'm dubious because I've had them call and renege on items in the past.

Little do the JCrew website administrators know that there is an online community of hundreds, if not thousands of us who monitor the primary and secondary market for Aldens daily, looking for mispricing opportunities, like hedge funds and arbitrageurs do in the capital markets.

Mine shipped this morning, so I think they're honoring the orders.

I picked them up at Harrison Limited in Birmingham, AL about 3 weeks ago but am just now starting to break them in as I wanted to make sure on the fit.....they said they are on the Aberdeen last which has a completely different look than the Barrie PTBs I have tried on....great men's shop with some southern flare....they even offered to ship them for free so I wouldn't have to pay local sales tax!!!

I don't think I've seen people post here on the long term performance of a double leather sole vs a "double waterlock" sole on this thread... From what I can tell a broken in double leather sole performs just as well as a double waterlock... Both are at the end of the day leather soles. The single "flex welt" sole is light and feels different on the foot than the single leather sole offered by Alden, but the "double waterlock" seems more like marketing IMO. Just my two cents (I own Indy boots on the double waterlock)
